Gold Leaf Graffiti on Concrete. 

Nourish was an intervention where I went outside to gold leaf the word ‘NOURISH’ on sidewalks. The intention was, as people walked on it or interacted with it, the gold leaf would eventually be worn off by use/mis-use/disuse. Through interaction, nourishment would be provided through this graffiti. A project I return to from time to time, and improve my gold-leafing skills with every new graffiti. 

Pictured below is a test on Masonite, as well as some process documentation + the text I drew for this.

I love drawing text, typography, and the ephemeral. The process of getting to the stencil, and the prototyping that followed, was very rewarding (albeit frustrating at times, re: gold leaf adhesive).
